Teenager Will Burton lives in his head, and his head is filled with music. When his mom Karen Burton gets a job in New Jersey, Will starts his junior year at a new school only to find the old cliques still apply, but rock-n-roll rules the scene. Perpetually a misfit, Will strikes up a friendship with like-minded outsider Sa5m "the 5 is silent" who plays a mean guitar and has a voice to die for. Then surprisingly, the school's "it" girl, gifted singer-songwriter Charlottr, after being impressed by Will's knowledge of music, recruits him to assemble a band to compete in Bandslam, a battle of the bands that is "Texas High School Football BIG." Against all odds, their band develops a sound all its own with a real shot at success in the contest. But when disaster strikes, it's time for the band to make a choice: Do they admit defeat, or face the music and stand up for what they believe in? With music as the great equalizer, Bandslam is a movie that proves love, friendship, and music can all rock your world.

THE YES MEN FIX THE WORLD

FEATURING: Andy Bichlbaum, Mike Bonanno, Reggie Watts

Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno are "The Yes Men," two guys who combine political activism, performance art and the love of a good prank in the name of demanding the private sector take responsibility for the damage it's done to the world and its people. Bichlbaum and Bonanno specialize in setting up realistic looking mock web sites that claim to represent famous and powerful multi-national corporations, and when they're contacted to speak on the companies' behalf, they deliver absurd satirical presentations that sometimes fool their audiences into believing they've seen the real thing. The exploits of Bichlbaum and Bonanno were chronicled in the 2003 documentary The Yes Men, and their further adventures have spawned a second film, The Yes Men Fix The World, which follows the radical pranksters as they claim responsibility for a major environmental disaster in Bhopal on European television, demonstrate a new corporate rescue orb, "defend" corporate interests in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, and publish a mock edition of The New York Times that declares the end of the war in Iraq .

IN THE LOOP

FEATURING: Peter Capaldi, Tom Hollander,
Gina McKee, James Gandolfini, Chris Addison, Anna Chlumsky

A bumbling British government minister (Tom Hollander) makes a verbal snafu during a TV interview, setting in motion this smart comedy and Sundance Film Festival hit that's already drawing comparisons to some of the great political and absurdist comedies, including Dr. Strangelove, Wag the Dog, Thank You for Smoking and Monty Python. With razor-sharp, truly laugh-out-loud dialogue, the film pokes fun at the absurdity and ineptitude of our highest leaders. With everyone looking out for number one, and the fate of the free world at stake (but apparently incidental), the hilarious ensemble cast of characters bumbles its way through Machiavellian political dealings, across continents, and toward comic resolutions that are unforeseeable. From the acclaimed team who created the award-winning BBC comedy series "Alan Partridge" and "The Thick of It."
